All your comments are belong to us

11. June 2010

Yes, I can speak english.  That statement was a play off a famous game that was poorly localized to english and that was the phrase they used, “All your base are belong to us

I had so many spam/flood comments in my blog that I’ve wipe them ALL!! So I’m sorry for those of you that had valid comments.  I’ve added captcha so hopefully that will slow that process down a whole lot.

So again, sorry for those of you that had your real comments wiped. Clean slate time.

Moved Servers and Location

12. March 2010

Sorry for any site issues you may have experienced over the last couple of days. I moved my site to a new server in a data center and onto a Windows 2008 II7 machine. Seems BlogEngine.Net had some issues, which I have still yet to resolve.  Though I’ve found some solutions they did not work for me, as I test them live on my production site. So bare with me if you get .Net errors.  I think it’s time to upgrade!

Well back to posting I guess after I've lost a bunch of work here.

30. August 2009

So my hosting company couldn't recover the data they lost. How or why they didn't have a backup beats me. I'm thinking of switching hosting companies (yeah I said it Chris :p ) and get myself a dedicated server all for me.

Over the last few months I had a lot of code snippets and stuff I wanted to remember but the sorrow of losing it all has passed and now that I can't remember what I lost I can move on and post again.

Lost three months of posts

29. July 2009

Hosting service lost a drive and data.  All my post since may to end of July are gone.

They are working on recovering the data. Until I hear from them, I'll forego posting anymore, I feel I've lost a part of my soul :p

Embedding SilverLight into my BlogEngine.Net site

3. May 2009

Like others, people want to add SilverLight apps or plugins to their blog site and now so do I! However, on quick searching I found an Extension that I didn’t like. It’s using 1.0 older js file and seems ok but I wanted something more up-to-date. Others have pointed out flawless.code’s silverlight plugin but I kept looking.

I found a better one in my opinion, because it relies on me having the latest SilverLight.js file and I can put the content in another folder, which I am doing. So I tried out MonstersGotMy.Net’s SilverLight Extension for BlogEngine.Net and it was much more to my liking.

Where did your photos go!?

3. May 2009

Ok I’ve been asked this a few times now. Sorry my original gallery is gone. I plan to put something up, I’m just not sure what technology I’m going to use. I could manually upload images but that’s no fun. I think I’m leaning towards using my Mac’s iPhoto or Me.com account, or iWeb to handle my gallery.  Soon as I get that sorted out, I’ll create a menu link to it.

New Layout and Blog Engine

3. May 2009

Ok here we go again. I kind of got tired of using Community Server for my blog engine, it didn't do something I wanted, and rather then invent the wheel and write my own, not that I have the time, I decided to go with BlogEngine.Net. It's an all C# blog tool, and it allows me to customize it a lot more, fully open source.

So I'll be converting over the post from the other system and then we'll see how it goes. Though I'm not converting the users from the other system so looks like people will have to sign up again. :(
